If your site is about cars, make sure to use that keyword on all of your pages. Write about cars and italicize or bold the keywords(cars, automobile, etc.). Also, put your main keywords into your <title> tags.

The number one thing to do is to stay away from Blackhat SEO techniques. Don't try to trick the search engines. You'll get caught eventually and banned, which virtually means your site is worthless.
