I have couple of experiences with news related to some of my websites.

If found not been very good just to make a news text and submit it to proper websites. Many times my news won't be accepted/published.

I found is much easier to simply make news, post it to company website/blog or to site in target/his blog.

Then news could be submitted with link to that news on your site. Seems site editors are more willing to accept your news in such cases.

Sounds like the perfect thing to Digg.
