How many of you visit blogs?

If you regularly use forums and you're reading a blog, chances are you'll see if the blog has a forum and check it out.

When I created my first successful blog, one of the things that most of the users requested was a forum. Same goes for my successful forums.

A forum will help users create content, a blog will help you create content. This way, you can control the content that's created and if search engines won't pick up the forum content, they'll pick up the blog content.

You'll get visitors to both the forum and blog. It will balance each other out and help you be a little more successful.

Agreed, content is king. The more of it you have, the better indexing you will get by search engines, and more traffic thereafter.

Exactly. My best blog doesn't have a forum, but I'm definitely thinking of installing one.
It really doesn't need the help in search engines but I'd like users to be able to stay there and not leave and find another site with a forum geared toward my niche.

IME I found that combining the blog with a forum works out well. Just my two cent.

Exactly my point. The worst that could happen is that your forum won't get popular. Who cares?
Just fill it yourself or make it a support forum for your blog.

I always wondered what the point to having a blog for my forum, or vice versa, would be.
