Default Dual role for adding to directories

Hello,

Adding links to some external directories can help in at least two ways:
1. Increasing Page Rank if site allows this
2. Getting more visitors to site

I would recommend to submit to sites where both Page Rank is high and there is enough traffic so it's a chance to get visitors following the links on that site.

Cool Can this be automated?

I totally agree with you.
However, are there apps available that can automated the process?

I recently saw a thread where they poster was seeking customers. They offered to submit your details to 500 high ranking directories for about $30. They cannot be making any $$ without automating the process.

There are apps, but most of directories doesn't worth much.

Unfortunately it seems that web directories are on the decline. Maybe it's just me, but the only major web director I know of is http://www.dmoz.org/. Does anyone know any other good ones?

DMOZ is (thankfully) fading away.
Try http://www.dmegs.com/ or something.
