Lightbulb Layout Suggestions

I have some suggestion regarding the layout, i think you need to change some parts.
  • Your site network have a lot of sites, how about making a "toolbar" on the top of the page containing the sites you have in your network?
  • Then, it seems that you want to make all your forum in the same style, how about using the same layout but with different colors?
  • I think you should move the "mark forums read", "view new posts" & "view todays posts" button to the right (the alignment). It's easier for people's eyes to catch.
  • The "Forum Contains New Posts" icon, "Forum Contains No New Posts" icon and the "Forum is Closed for Posting" icon, i think the text is not necessary (in other word, it's disturbing ) because it attracts too much attention than the forum's title itself. just remove the text and for the locked forum, use a lock symbol.
  • The "Collapse" and "Expand" button, you should change the text into "+" and "-". Why? Honestly, you are using too much text (and sometimes it's not only unnecessary, but also distracting people's eyes. The effect: confused visitor.)
  • The sidebar on the mainpage should be on the right. Why? because the forums are more important than the sidebar. People will see your site from left to right (except you use the Arabic language).
  • The "Last Post" 's placement is sometimes confusing people. Make the position the same as the Forum Title (it's hard to expain, but it simply means that the forum no new post/new post/locked icon should be the only one on the left.) i'll post a picture later.

The thing with the layout is, it's used for many different sites so it would take a lot of time doing all these modifications on each and every one of these sites.

I understand that. However, it's up 2 the admins whether they want to change the layout or not

Another suggestion: Your site requires a big monitor to be viewed properly (17" monitor on fullscreen). The problem is on the navigation bar. I think the navigation bar should be re-positioned.

I understand that and as one of the admins my vote stands at no because like I said, it is too much work to make all of these changes across each and every one of these sites.
It's not necessary.

The screen doesn't need to be a certain size. I have computers of all different sizes and the site looks fine on all of them.

Layout is going to be changed a bit next days probably.

We have some bugs reported also which would be fixed.

As Cristian says, we know that the skin has issues and we are taking all of your comments into account as we consider what changes to make. I myself have issues as well and agree with some of your comments. Some of which we've already been discussing. We'll iron it out as we move forward. Please keep the suggestions and discussions going. We never tire of hearing suggestions on how to make our sites better.

Actually, i didn't see the mistakes too (at first). Try to view the site in a 1200x800 or 1440x900 resolution (height does not matter). View it with firefox, then open the "bookmark Sidebar" (ctrl+b).Try to find the logout link. Now, got what I mean?

Remember, not everyone have a wide monitor. Imagine opening the site on 1280x1024 resolution.
